We are excited to continue to offer Tzelem, a Moving Traditions group for trans, non binary, gender diverse and LGBTQ+ teens. Moving Traditions is an organization that emboldens youth by fostering self discovery, challenging sexism, and inspiring a commitment to Jewish life and learning. Beth El has been a long time partner with Moving Traditions and has used many of their other curricular pieces or sponsored some of their other groups.  Any Jewish teen is welcome to be a part of our Maryland group (no congregation affiliation is necessary). Beth El launched our Tzelem group during the 2021-2022 school year and it has been meeting regularly since. 

The first Tzelem meeting for school year 25/26 is October 12th 2025 from 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm.  

Participation costs are included in Beth El Youth membership fees.  To join Beth El Youth click here.  

For teens only connected to Beth El through Tzelem, there will be a separate payment form to help cover the costs of the program emailed after registration.  The suggested amount is $100.  We never want cost to prohibit teens from joining Tzelem.  To discuss financial assistance options please reach out to Allison Brown at abrown@bethelmc.org.
