Shabbaton Romemu Brooklyn Kabbalat Shabbat & Catered Shabbat Dinner (With Potluck Dessert!) on March 15-16, 2019

Please join us for our first ever Shabbaton.

In the form below, you’ll have the chance to indicate your RSVPs for services, meals and Shabbaton programming.  

A weekend of soulful and creative Shabbat services, nourishing meals, meditation, Kirtan, Torah workshops, and Havdalah Dance party.  Full Children's Programming available on Friday night and Saturday Morning. New-comers are welcome and expected. Romemu Manhattan is invited to help kick-off Romemu Brooklyn's 1st Shabbaton.

Drop-in to specifics or stay for the whole weekend.

Special Bonus: Homemade Chulent will be served on Shabbat Lunch, made with Grow and Behold Eco-Kosher meat.  Vegetarian options also available.

Friday March 15, 2019

Services & Dinner at Berkeley Carroll School

  • Doors open at 6:00 pm; services begin at 6:30 and dinner will start immediately after.

  • Kabbalat Shabbat service (Performance Space), 152 Sterling Place, Brooklyn

  • Community Band at Kabbalat Shabbat Service

  • Kabbalat Shabbat Catered Shabbat dinner and potluck dessert. A Kosher meal option will be provided. (Dining Room), 181 Lincoln Place (3-minute walk from 152 Sterling Place!) – (registration required!)

  • Rise & Shine Morning Programming (registration recommended!)

    • 8:45am-9:30am Parsha & Poetry Study: “Altered Offerings” - led by community member Jessica Greenbaum, in Conference Room

    • 8:45am-9:30am Drum Circle Prep, led by Shai Wetzer, in Billiards Room

    • 9:00am-9:30am Meditation: "Making Space with Embodied Ritual" - led by community member Rachel Taylor, in Kids Playroom  

  • Bagel Breakfast - 9:30am-10:00am - Lounge

  • Service, with following Shabbaton additions: 10am-12pm

    • Community Drum Circle w/ Shai Wetzer during chosen sections of the service

    • B’Mitzvah Alumni chant Torah

    • Anna Hannau of Grow & Behold will speak about eco-kosher consciousness.  

  • Services followed by Lunch: Grow & Behold Chulent lunch (made by community members), & Catered Shabbat Lunch 12pm-1:30/2pm (registration required!)

  • Havdalah Service with Live Music and Dance Party, co-sponsored by Beloved Brookyn -  7:00pm-10:00pm - 1 Grand Army Plaza - Lounge

Dinner will be catered by Hakan Cingir for a delicious Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern style feast + kid-friendly options! Kosher options from VSpot will also be available. Please indicate the number of adults and children below. $15 per person 13+; $8 per child ages 4-12; free for children age 0-3.


















Note: Challot, kiddush wine and grape juice, and water will be provided. If you’d like to bring wine, spirits, soda or other beverages in addition to your potluck dessert contribution, please feel free!

Lunch will feature Kosher pastured meats from Grow & Behold for our first community shabbaton chulent, and parve catering by Hakan Cingir. Kosher options from VSpot will also be available.
