2019-2020 Shakespeare in American Communities
This year there are two Request for Proposals available to eligible applicants to reach students with works of Shakespeare through theater. 


This Request for Proposals is open to eligible U.S.-based 501(c)(3) professional theater companies that have produced Shakespeare or classically-based repertoire within the last five years and has a minimum of two years' experience providing both performances and related educational activities for middle and/or high school students.

Please note the following.
You have indicated that your theater company will be applying to both the Schools and Juvenile Justice RFPs.
  • Two applications forms will need to be submitted.
  • Two Case numbers, one for each form, will be forwarded to you and will pre-fill information we already have on file for your company.
  • There must be no overlapping activities or expenses between the two Proposed Project Budgets.


Applications are due Thursday, February 14, 2019.

After you submit this intent, you will be emailed a Case number to be entered in the application form. This number will pre-fill any details we have on file for your organization. 

If you are a new applicant to Shakespeare in American Communities, Christy will be in contact with you to schedule a call to discuss your proposed project and ensure it qualifies for this program before proceeding to far into the preparation of your application.
